What to do now that Joanns is closing 😢

Hey Reader!

So let's talk about the elephant in the room... Joann Fabric is closing. 😢 I'm pretty bummed about it. Mainly because of the convenience of being able to run in and grab a spool of thread or bias tape, but mainly because it means many beginners won't have a way to feel what different fabric types are like before ordering online.

BUT I have two things that are really going to help you. Number one- I recommend ordering a pack of fabric swatches so you can see what different types of fabric feel like! This one is only $5!

The second thing that is going to help you SO much is a free guide I've put together with over 50 different online fabric shops that I recommend and trust! There are fabric shops from all over the world!

Even though I'll miss Joanns, the quality of the fabric from these shops is FAR superior and will last years. I'm so excited for you to get your hands on this list!

Here's a beginner tip you don't actually want to hear.

When people come to me to ask for beginner sewing tips, my first suggestion is always this. Read your sewing machine manual. Boring? Yes. Necessary? Absolutely! It will tell you so much about your machine that is specific to that brand and model. They provide troubleshooting tips on tension, threading and so much more. Already know your machine's basics? Read it anyway, your sewing machine might have special features you didn't even know existed! Your manual will become your sewing bestie throughout your sewing journey!
